Healthy Things Grow.
Health is an interesting topic, it applies to so many aspects in our lives. As a competitive athlete health only meant performance, specifically tied to competition. It reflected my ability to train, go to practice and then perform when the whistle blew (win or lose).
Early in my career health started transforming to balancing fitness with lifestyle. Whether I was maintaining a "look" or setting a short term goal, health reflected the challenge right in front of me but nothing longer than a few months.
Now health means so much more, it means playing the long game. It's still an ability to eat right and workout but growth in those areas need to feed other aspects my life. Sure looking good is great, but feeling good is where the magic happens. Health is giving myself the opportunity to learn, staying fit and build new skills to be at my best for anyone who relies on me.
Now health means:
Sleep
Nutrition
Managing stress and anxiety (things I thought I was immune to a few years ago)
Relationships
Oh yeah, and fitness
I slip on all of them, every day is a battle to be better but that is why it's so easy to be #unhealthy...because growth is hard.
