Review: Cinder Grill

Medium Rare Rib-Eye

Medium Rare Rib-Eye

First cook with the Cindergrill. Have to say I was impressed with the accuracy of the internal meat temperature as well as the ability to walk away while it cooks.

Heavier than I expected, easily cooks for a family of 3-4 but don't plan on hosting any dinner parties with it. The app works well, both as a bluetooth remote as well as meal planner.

Why this, why now? I have plenty of tools and great grill, so why another? My motives were basic:

1) Curiosity
2) Efficiency
3) Expansion

As my family is growing, so is the need to find ways to cook for us while not spending more time in the kitchen away from everyone. I wanted a tool I could use for home cooked meals, hitting what we already eat while also expanding into new dishes (which this should allow me to do). Don't get me wrong, I love a good gadget but I'm hoping this pays off as my time is crunched but output expands.

PROs

  • Meat temperature was exact

  • Searing was easy, not too smokey either

  • Family loved it, 2 year old ate hers (yes she puts down 8oz)

  • App worked well as a remote as well as a food planner

CONS

  • Heavy (but sturdy). You’re not storing after each use, this will need a home

  • Only 3-4 servings at once, not for parties but great for a few people

  • Takes a little longer then a grill or oven + cast iron
